"A GENTLE REMINDER"

If you are like me, you need a little reminder once in a while of what really matters in your life. We live in a world that is designed to force us into it's mold and thinking. Scripture tells us that we are to have a renewed mind, thinking on those things which will enable us to present Jesus Christ as we mature with each step. A great prayer would be "Please Lord protect me from becoming so caught up in worldly gain that I don't have time for eternal preparation". A gentle nudge is just what we need, sometimes a number of times each day.

"IT IS TOO HEAVY"

Seems like in recent years I have noticed I can't carry the load I once could. Maybe my health isues have had some part in that. One thing has not changed though and that is my need for the Lord to bare the load in my life. For me to try and be the loadbearer is not very smart. I must let the One who is more than capable of handling my needs be the All Powerful Lord of my daily situation. If I give it all over to Him, the need will always be met perfectly. It is time to unload and give up. Get at it.....

"MORE THAN A BUDDY"

Friends are great blessings. They can be a real help during tough times. One thing we must always remember though is the Lord is not just our buddy or peep. He is the Saviour of our souls, healer of our bodies, and provider of our needs. He must occupy a special position in every aspect of our existence. We must honor Him with our words and actions. Praising Him must be as normal as breathing. He wants to be looked to first above all else during our temptations and trials. We make the place where He resides through our faith in His faithfulness. Lets make Him feel at home in our hearts.

What's happening all around us must be sifted through what has been revealed to our spirit man. One is definitely eternal and the other probably not.

Good morning Don....something popped into my mind and thought I would write.

 

Are we living for the moment or the memory.  The aroma of what we do often lingers for days, months, or sometimes generations.  If we measure our actions with the weight of generational ramifications, it will urge us to "act" at times and "sit silently" at others. 

 

"FAVOR AIN'T FAIR"

"Favor ain't fair" so they say.  I've said it, believed it, but now....starting to doubt it.  Ha!  Too often we want to go where God wants us to go, become what God wants us to become, accomplish what God wants us to accomplish, and have what God wants us to have,  but we don't want to walk in the way God wants us to walk.  So, yeah....I am beginning to think .... favor IS fair! 

 

Be blessed and walk in God's favor.

"WORDS"

The words we speak produce life or death. With the stroke of the tongue we can change something or someone for all of eternity. Damage can be done that is unrepairable. A memory can be established for all of time. Speak with a careful spirit and a mind being fed truth from above.

We can not turn on and off our love for God. Everything we do must be tempered by our desire to live pleasing to him. Everything....

Where would this world be if we thought less about ourselves and more about the needs of others. If I understand scripture, the process of doing away with much of the problem would prevail. "Give and it shall be given unto you."

Overcomers are created through times of failure and victory. Little by little we learn that God ability far exceeds our expectation. It takes dusting yourself off and trying it again. Then the time comes when we survive and that is a great day. God works in each of us to establish His will and way.

"PEACE, PEACE, WONDERFUL PEACE"

Life for all of us will have times of struggle and stress. The good news is we can, through our faith in Jesus Christ, have peace in our hearts during it all. His constant companionship and attention means we are never alone and defenceless. He is our protector and provider. His plan says we win, and that is the bottom line.

THE WEEK AHEAD

Who knows! But it will be in God's hands. He will not forsake His own. Nothing will separate us from His love. Whatever He does will be good. It will be just like every other week for His children. Maybe a few surprises to look forward to. Get it on.....

"JUST A THOUGHT"

To know God, we must experience Him. To experience Him, we must trust Him. Asking Him for His help and then taking things back in our own hands is futile. We must be ready to be used but only at His direction. His timing is perfect and for our good. "Be still and know that He is Lord".

The cheapness of our talk is quickly revealed in the unfaithfulness of our living. Our reflection must be clear and pure. He is the only one who needs to be seen.

"WHAT A DAY"

Few of us have ever experienced a time like we are presently living in. Even those who went through the depression or at least knew those who did , say that these are troubling days. Peace and security are being sought by most. Well I have the answer. Tough times don't change eternal truth. Our hope rests in the Lord Jesus Christ and in Him only. Now might be a good moment to stop and reaccess His place in our lives. He is always at the door.

"EVEN THE ROUGH EDGES MUST GO"

How often do we go out of our way to avoid anything unpleasant or costly? Well, that thing we work so hard at avoiding may be the very thing God is trying to use to take us to the next level in our walk with Him. Someone who rubs us the wrong way, an effort that drains us, or a conversation that leaves us baffled and confused may be our sandpaper for the day. It might be better for us to act slowly so we don't miss God grace and favor. 

"FOOD FOR THOUGHT'

I had certainly rather be found trying if failure comes than doing nothing and guaranteeing it.

Hope is meant to be part of our operating system. Trying to exist without it is futile.

We set the course for tomorrows success by the mental commitments we make today.....

"JEFF'S STUFF"

I was in line at Mickey D’s this morning getting me some oatmeal and the wait was a little long.  The car immediately in front of me was as the “pay” window.  Well, I guess the wait became too much and he yelled a few choice words and sped off.  It was almost comical how fast the line cleared after he drove off.  I mean literally within one minute the three cars in front of him drove up and got their food.  I got to the window and told the worker the food in her hand wasn’t mine and “whoever” must have been in a hurry and drove off.  She looked confused and said, “Really?  …….Well, he paid for it!”  We both got a good laugh.  If you think about it, isn’t that a lot like the Kingdom?  We get impatient and miss what God has for us.  We get angry and storm away from HIM, because something didn’t come in “our” time.  We are in a hurry doing things that really don't matter on eternity’s scale.  The sad thing is that what GOD has for us has already been paid for; we sometimes just have to wait.  Isaiah 40:31 tells us that those of us who do “wait” upon the LORD “will” renew our strength.  Help us LORD learn to wait!

"WHAT YOU GONNA DO?"

In the last two years, I have experienced Doctors finding cancer in my left lung which resulted in my entire lung being removed, a heart attack which resulted in a number of catherizations and stent placements, a broken upper right arm requiring surgery to place a steel rod and screws to pull bone back together, 26 weeks of chemo therapy with all the side issues involved, dozens and dozens of blood draws, surgery for port placement, and forced retirement with substantial loss of income. Need I go on? The point is I had to make a choice. Would I keep living or would I throw in the towel? I chose to live, love, and keep blooming for the Lord. Giving up is not all it is cranked up to be. Now move on....

"MUCH ABOUT NOTHING"

Wonder how much time we will spend today dealing with the trivial. Stuff that has no eternal meaning. Maybe it would be a good idea to keep our focus upon that which points toward home. Heaven is ahead, time to plan for it. Get ready, get ready!!!

"WHY NOT?"

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."        Isaiah 43:18-19

Yesterday is gone. It is time to quit living in and controlled by the past. Mistakes, failures, disappointments, and hurts have to be put where they belong. This is a new day with new mercies, hopes, dreams, and promises. God has a plan for man and we need to take hold of His plan and run with it. His plan is good and perfect. He knows what we need even more than we do. Success is possible for those who will walk in His will and way. Some will say I can't, I just can't. With the most powerful Force in the universe on your side you can and you will. Get to it! What are you waiting on?

"STICK EM UP!!"

"Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."          Ephesians 4:21-24

Most of us "old timers" remember the days of The Lone Ranger, Roy Rodgers, Gene Autry, Gabby Hayes, and on and on we could go. For the most part there was poor acting but good, clean story lines. Saving the farm, getting back the kidnapped lady, or recovering the stolen bounty. Often, during the script we heard the phrase "stick em up". It represented submission to the bad guys or whoever had the draw. Today, God's people are being told to "stick em up". Giving up our will for His. Turning over to the Lord every aspect of our lives. We are to not only make Him Lord in the sanctuary but everyday, every moment, in every situation. When we lift up our hands, we are not only giving it all to Him but we are saying to all the world that we know who He is and we are following His lead.

MONDAY AND IT IS STILL A GOOD DAY!!!

Hope everyone is enjoying the goodness of God today. Wonder who we could bless before the sun sets. Maybe just a phone call, a smile, a kind word, believe me it doesn't take much. So many are in need of being recognized and appreciated. If it is you I'm talking to, HEY! THIS IS YOUR DAY TO BE LOVED AND RECOGNIZED. YOU HAVE VALUE AND MEANING IN THIS WORLD. WALK WITH YOUR HEAD HELD HIGH AND A SKIP IN YOUR STEP. BLESSINGS. SALUTE!!!

Love dining at the Master's table with my fellow believers. Friends of all colors, nationalities, economic standing, and background coming together to feast upon truth and fellowship. One in the Spirit, united in the love of Christ. God's family walks in blessing and lives in expectation. Peculiar at times but chosen for all of time.

Lookeeeee, lookeeeee!! A brand new day has been placed in our laps. Time to rest, rejoice, re-fuel, and find release. New fresh mercies surround our every move. Boys and girls we are blessed. We are truly blessed.

FEELING BETTER!!

Most of you know that I experienced a heart attack last Sunday morning. I spent four days in the hospital being treated for a blood clot inside one of my stints. Rare happening but kinda sounds like me. We are back at home recovering. Thanks for every prayer and kind word. Your concern and attention were definitely noticed.

"THE FACTS SAY, HE IS GOOD"

 "The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.   Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure,because you will not abandon me to the grave,nor will you let your Holy One see decay. You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."        Psalm 16:6-11 

Well God once again has seen fit to allow me a few more days upon this old ball floating around in space. I appreciate so much your prayers and kind words. It is a good thing to know that there are folks ready to come to battle when the wars of life break out. When I think I have experienced the pinnacle of God's amazing grace, He turns it up a notch and leaves me speechless once again. His presence and attentive care are promises which He takes very seriously. Life is tough enough without trying to travel it without our God of goodness and love. Today might be a good time to take a moment to become reaquainted with the reality of a living, loving, leading, and listening Saviour.

"Wonderful Lord, thank you for the Heaven sent love wherein we walk. Open our hearts and minds to the magnitude of Your goodness and love. Teach Your children to live each moment is constant expectation of Your tender mercies. You are truly the best. Amen"
